Because every blogger drops off the face of the Earth from time to time and needs more than a coffee to get back on track!
15 October – 12 November 2023
Well hello! It’s been a while! And if you’re thinking of writing the exact same thing to your audience, then you’re in the right place!
The last blog I wrote was around my 50th birthday in June. And today it’s 11 October! #oops
It’s not as if I haven’t thought about writing, or that my creativity wasn’t playing ball. In fact, my chunky A4 notebook is packed with ideas, notes and pages of self-reflection.
Quite simply, I’ve not made blogging a priority this summer.
Instead, I’ve focused on living life and simply ‘BEing’ in the present moment. Which, after all, is what a great life is made of.
There was my eldest daughter’s university graduation in July which was a beautiful celebration with family and friends in the English city of Leeds, quickly followed by my youngest daughter’s birthday and their trips to Europe together.
While I was *supposed* to be writing my book while they were away, I found that my body, mind and soul needed a break; time to reflect on the last year, to immerse myself in nature and daily walks, and to catch up on all the little things I wanted to do for me.
During August I created my own personal challenge to Walk 3 miles every day before breakfast. It was exactly what I needed and so much fun to find new routes that matched my 3 mile goal. However, the moral of the story is: wear good quality, not-old-and-worn-out trainers, and always stretch your calves and legs after every walk because otherwise you could get plantar fasciitis – which, let me tell you, isn’t fun!
And then in September, my cat got sick and needed multiple emergency vet visits and major surgery and my car decided to break – apparently the universe was trying to teach me something about money and why it’s essential to have a substantial savings pot (and pet insurance – which thankfully I do!).
Which brings us to that fact that we’re now in Q4 and approaching the ‘2 months til Christmas’ mark! (Yes, sorry, I said the C word!🤣)
Anyway, enough about me and my summer and my excuses for not blogging, how are YOU?
If you’ve read this far, I’m guessing you resonate with my energy and would also love to get back on the blogging train this autumn?
That’s why I’m setting up a Blog Accountability Challenge over the next month, to bring people together to support each other’s writing, form new connections and friendships and build stronger business foundations.
If you’d like to feel part of a like-minded blogging group, you can sign up using the button below (it’s free to join).
I look forward to seeing you there!
